Human Resources in Mental
Health field in Nepal are almost negligible. Only 37
psychiatrists (1 for 600,000 people) and 17 psychiatric
nurses (1 for 150,000 people) exist in the country.
In this context, we are fortunate to receive an Occupational
Therapist Ms. Tomoka YOKOHATA as a volunteer for two
years. She was sent to us upon our request to JICA.
She is from Osaka, Japan. Thanks to JICA Nepal. |

Time waits for no one!
A thing that has to be happen will always happen, no
matter how much we become alert of the situation. Last
week, one of our old buildings erected on the upper
portion of land at Nayapati was badly affected by storm.
Its roof was blown off and walls were damaged. One of
our staff member use to stay in the room but luckily
there was no one in the room when this incident took
place. |
